Ashton's Heritage Lottery Funded projects
Ashton ‘Roots’ Book :
( Project to run from 2009 to 2010 )
As the second part of Ashton’s commitment to the Heritage Lottery Funded Project, it was agreed to create and publish an up to date history book on Ashton. The last such book was published by the Ashton Women’s Institute in 1953.
This project was started directly after the Roots weekend, in July 2009. We hope to complete the work by the end of 2010.
We are looking for help from all those in the village and those who have family ‘Roots’ with Ashton.
We are looking for those who have ANY of the skills etc noted below :
- An interest in the history of our village
- Have any Photographs, Documents, memories, family history research of Ashton families etc.
- Those who would held us type in the notes and documents we already have to hand.
Those with word-
processors would be the most useful to us. - Those with the following skills:
- Word processing
- Artistic, drawing, painting etc.
- Graphics design
- Publishing
- Book production
- Etc etc –
some skills we may not have thought of yet !
