Ashton Diary of Events:
We are intending to set up a village diary of events.  This will allow us to coordinate all events in Ashton ( and perhaps surrounding villages )

It seems such a shame, in a village this size, that the events organised should clash, as in the case of 2 garden parties on the same day last year.

There are several groups who do try to get things moving, the school, Church, village group, pub, rugby club etc. and it would seem to be of benefit to them all if we pool our dates.
The school and village group and Church have tried to do this in the past and it's worked reasonably well.

Ashton Open Gardens
June 13th 2010 - Thank you

Well Done and Thank you to all the people who helped, or came, to the above event. The weather was kind to us and everybody seemed to enjoy themselves and over £700 was raised.

The gardens, that people had offered to open, were all very different but so attractive in their own individual ways. The setting for the teas on the Zanotto's lawn in front of their house was perfect and thanks to so many people who provided home made cakes to make it such a special afternoon.

It was lovely to receive so many visitors to our village and a particular "Well Done" to the families who managed to fit in "Open Gardens" after a family weekend scout camp----what stamina!

Despite the success of the afternoon it would have been lovely to see even more Ashton villagers there. All the events held, are for the benefit of the whole village so do try to support them.

The next big event is a
Harvest Supper on Friday, September 17th so put the date in your diary NOW and we hope to see you there.

Pool Party / BBQ - Thank you

We were lucky with another warm and dry afternoon for the party, though a little windy. The pool was full of children having a wonderful time.  Everyone was fed, watered and happy.  £150 was made for Church funds.  A very big thank you to Bryan and Rosemary Skinner for opening their garden to us.
