Ashton Diary of Events:
We are intending to set up a village diary of events.  This will allow us to coordinate all events in Ashton ( and perhaps surrounding villages )

It seems such a shame, in a village this size, that the events organised should clash, as in the case of 2 garden parties on the same day last year.

There are several groups who do try to get things moving, the school, Church, village group, pub, rugby club etc. and it would seem to be of benefit to them all if we pool our dates.
The school and village group and Church have tried to do this in the past and it's worked reasonably well.

January 2010:
UPDATE
Flower Arranging demonstration
and 3-course lunch:

Sorry if you missed the Christmas Extravaganza of flower arranging and lunch at St Mary's in Roade. It was a really good start to the festive season, and everyone enjoyed both the demonstration and the meal. A lot of hard work was involved, so a big thank you to all those who helped. It was a very worthwhile effort, with cheques for £520 being given to both St Mary's and St Michael's in Ashton.

With financing individual Churches becoming more difficult each year, could this be the way forward? Two or more parishes working together, pooling talents and resources, for the good of all?
